Comparison
Replov vs Vercel
Vercel is a frontend cloud: serverless functions behind a global CDN, Git-based deploys with preview deployments, and databases from Marketplace partners. Functions can run in Mumbai; billing is in USD.
Replov is a managed PaaS that runs web services, static sites, private services, background workers, cron jobs and Redis in Bangalore, with managed PostgreSQL through Vitibase in Mumbai, priced per service in rupees.

At a glance
| Replov | Vercel | |
|---|---|---|
| Best suited to | Developers and small teams in India who want apps, workers, cron jobs, Redis and PostgreSQL in Indian regions, priced in rupees. | Frontend and Next.js teams that want a global CDN, preview deployments and serverless functions that scale with traffic, and are fine paying in USD. |
| How you deploy | Connect GitHub and deploy on every push (Auto Deploy), from the dashboard, or from an AI coding agent through the Replov MCP connector. A Dockerfile in the repository is used as written; Node.js gets a generated Dockerfile; other languages are built with Nixpacks. | Git-based deploys with separate preview and production deployments. A Dockerfile.vercel builds a container image that runs as a Vercel Function. |
| Service types | Web service, static site, private service, background worker, cron job (with timezone), Redis. | Serverless functions (Node.js, Bun, Python and more; up to 300 s per call on Hobby, 800 s on Pro), static assets on the CDN, cron jobs that call a function, and background workers through Vercel Daemons (public beta). |
| Managed databases | Managed PostgreSQL through Vitibase (with REST APIs, auth, storage and realtime), and managed Redis from the Micro tier. | No first-party database: Postgres, Redis and other stores are provisioned through the Vercel Marketplace from providers such as Neon, Upstash and Supabase. Vercel Blob stores files. |
| Pricing model | Fixed price per service by compute tier, billed hourly or per 30 days from a prepaid wallet. | Hobby $0; Pro $20/month including $20 of usage credit, then usage billed on active CPU, provisioned memory, invocations and data transfer. |
| Free tier or trial | Two Nano static sites per account have no compute charge. Each new service on a tier above Nano gets a 3-day trial. | Hobby is free for personal, non-commercial use, with fixed caps (for example 100 GB of data transfer and 4 hours of active CPU a month) that cannot be raised. |
| Smallest paid instance | Nano: 0.5 vCPU, 512 MB, ₹199 per 30 days. | No fixed instance: functions are billed by use (on Pro, from $0.128 per active CPU-hour and $0.0106 per GB-hour of memory). |
| India region | Yes. Applications run in Bangalore (DigitalOcean BLR1); managed PostgreSQL in Mumbai (AWS ap-south-1). Daily backups are stored in Singapore. | Yes, for functions: Mumbai (bom1) can be chosen as the function region; the default is Washington, D.C. Static files are served from the global CDN. |
| Regions | India: Bangalore for applications, Mumbai for managed PostgreSQL. | 19 compute regions worldwide, including Mumbai, Singapore and Tokyo, plus a global CDN. Functions run in 1 region on Hobby and up to 5 on Pro. |
| Scaling | Vertical only (change the compute tier). No horizontal replicas or autoscaling. | Functions scale automatically with traffic, up to 30,000 concurrent executions on Hobby and Pro. |
| Custom domains and HTTPS | Custom domains on web services and static sites, verified by CNAME and TXT; automatic Let’s Encrypt certificates. | Custom domains with automatic Let’s Encrypt certificates, renewed automatically. |
| Logs and metrics | Build and runtime logs with live streaming; CPU, memory and network metrics. No log export. | Runtime logs kept 1 hour on Hobby and 1 day on Pro; 30 days with the paid Observability Plus add-on. |
| Persistent storage | Volumes of 1–100 GB at ₹15 per GB-month; daily encrypted backups kept 7 days on Micro and above. | Files go in Vercel Blob; databases come from Marketplace providers. |
| Billing currency | INR. | USD; GST and other taxes are added based on your billing address. |
When Vercel is the better fit
- You build a frontend or Next.js site that benefits from a global CDN and a preview deployment for every change.
- Your traffic is spiky and you want functions that scale automatically and cost nothing while idle.
- You want a free tier for a personal, non-commercial project.
When Replov is the better fit
- You run long-lived servers or queue workers that do not fit a function time limit (300 s on Hobby, 800 s on Pro).
- You want background workers (generally available) and cron jobs at any interval on the entry plan; Vercel Hobby cron jobs run at most once a day.
- You want a fixed price per service in rupees rather than a usage-based bill in dollars.
- You want managed PostgreSQL and Redis from the same platform and wallet as your apps.
Moving from Vercel to Replov
- A Next.js app becomes a Replov web service: one long-running server, built with output: 'standalone' (or next start). Image optimisation and ISR then run inside that container rather than on a CDN.
- A Vercel cron job that calls an API route becomes a Replov cron job that runs a command, or keeps the route and calls it on a schedule.
- Move Marketplace Postgres to managed PostgreSQL on Vitibase with pg_dump and pg_restore, or keep it and connect it with DATABASE_URL.
- Static sites (Vite, Astro, plain HTML) become Replov static sites. There is no global CDN: files are served from Bangalore.
